1. Just Down the Road – Relaxed Brunch in Unley
Ambience & Vibe
Just Down the Road offers a modern, clean interior. The music inside can get a bit loud, so for a calm conversation, the outdoor seating is a better choice. Staff are friendly, and the atmosphere feels laid-back and welcoming.
Menu Highlights
Deli Meat Sandwich – Mortadella, salami, nap sauce, provolone, tomato, pesto, and lettuce. The sauces keep the sandwich moist, and the soft but substantial bread holds everything perfectly. The pesto adds a subtle, refreshing flavour.
Coffee – I always order an oat-milk flat white, and even though they didn’t use the oat-milk brand I usually drink, the coffee was still nutty and tasted great. The cup wasn't very large, but paired with the sandwich, it was very filling. Location & tips
Visiting early on a Saturday allowed for a peaceful breakfast experience. Even though there are bench and bar-style tables outside, all seats could be taken during busy hours. If the cafe is full, take your meal across the street to Pelzer Park, which has a playground for kids and a dog park—perfect for a family-friendly outdoor break. There’s also plenty of street parking along the side roads, so finding a spot is usually easy.

Ambience & Seating
Humble Toast is a small, cozy cafe with a couple of tables inside and 7–8 outdoor tables. Convenient parking is available right across from the beach. The cafe is calm and family-friendly, with outdoor seating perfect for dining with a dog or grabbing coffee to take to the beach.
Menu Highlights
Salami Mami Sando – Cheese, grilled mushrooms, salami, salad, and roasted tomatoes. The slightly firm toast crust adds a nice texture, while the fresh ingredients create a balanced flavour.
Cubano – Glazed pork, smoked ham, mustard mayo, pickle, and cheddar. A delicious combination, though the sauce can feel a bit heavy.
Coffee – At Humble Toast, they also didn’t have my usual oat milk, but the coffee was still smooth, good and paired really well with the sandwich.
Location & Tips
Located right on the beachfront, this cafe offers a perfect start to a sunny day. The area has stunning ocean views with palm trees—ideal for brunch photos or a quick seaside stroll afterwards.

3. Weekend Brunch Drive & Outdoor Fun
Both cafes are easier to reach by car, making them perfect for a weekend brunch drive around Adelaide. Their slightly out-of-the-way locations give you a reason to slow down and enjoy a leisurely morning.
Just Down the Road – Family-Friendly Park Nearby
Just Down the Road has a residential charm with a nearby park, playground, and dog park. It’s ideal for families or anyone wanting a short outdoor break after enjoying a delicious brunch.
Humble Toast – Discovering Grange Beach
During my time living in Adelaide, I’ve visited many well-known beaches like Henley Beach, Glenelg Beach, Semaphore Beach, and Brighton Beach. But thanks to a visit to Humble Toast, I discovered Grange Beach for the first time—a small, quiet spot located roughly between Henley and Semaphore. Busy, bustling beaches have their charm, but there’s a special joy in finding a peaceful, unexpected place like this where you can truly relax.
Humble Toast offers coastal vibes with a quiet beach path, perfect for a slow weekend walk, dog-friendly strolls, or enjoying the sea breeze after brunch.
